Big Picture is a three-piece band playing
classic rock 'n roll songs from the 1950s, 1960s, and early 1970s. Big
Picture plays mostly in the Baltimore–Washington D.C. area with occasional
jaunts north to Pennsylvania. The band got it's start back in 1969 when
band members Phil Wood (bass) and Phil Stinnett (guitar) were students
at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. Well-versed
in the top-40 tunes of the era, veteran musicians with local bands, Wood
and Stinnett decided to trying making music as a three-piece. It
certainly was more profitable, but it turned out to be surprisingly
easier and much more fun. That's Mike Harding with the phone in his ear,
one of the very best rock 'n roll drummers in the area. Now a notable
radio personality in the area, Phil Wood can often be seen playing bass
guitar and singing rock 'n roll songs on weekends at baseball stadiums,
clubs, sports bars, festivals, fund-raisers, etc. Many listeners tune in
faithfully for his rich insight on major league baseball.
